How to keep your teeth the whitest they can be
The first impression, should be the best impression, and one of the first things people notice when they first meet is their smile. This is one of the many reasons, as to why it is important that your smile stays spectacular. One important aspect of a spectacular smile is making sure your teeth are their whitest and brightest.
So how can one make sure that they maintain a great looking smile by having whiter teeth? The first, is to make sure that good dental hygiene is maintained at home. A toothpaste that is specifically designed to whiten teeth should be used at least twice a day. Brushing the teeth should also be done after every meal to help keep food particles and debris from remaining on the teeth. Flossing, along with using mouthwash should be done after every meal as well for a deeper cleanse. Investing in a good toothbrush especially one with a spinning head is of benefit as well. A spinning head toothbrush has been found to clean and polish teeth better than a traditional manual toothbrush. Limiting and/or avoiding foods that stain the teeth is another pointer. Foods that typically stain the teeth are dark colored foods and drinks such as wine, cocoa, tea, dark juices, colas, coffees, and berries amongst others. If these foods and/or beverages are consumed they should be done so in moderation and teeth should be brushed immediately afterwards. This helps to avoid deep staining of the teeth, which can be hard to remove if left to continuously set.
Using the aforementioned tips, along with making sure to visit the dentist every six months for a professional deep cleaning will help to ensure great looking teeth. Also be sure to check with your dentist for professional whitening treatments that may be available for you.
