What exactly is leg care?
Typically when a woman thinks about her legs, she only thinks about how to keep them looking great to look good in her favorite outfits. However after that, little to no thought is given to her legs. Leg care, should extend beyond appearance. Legs are not only for looking great in a pair of jeans, shorts, or skirts. A women’s legs keep her mobile as well and help her carry her body weight.
Thirty to sixty minutes of daily exercise such as walking and other forms help to keep legs strong and healthy. Exercise also helps to keep off excess weight which can weaken knees, other joints, muscles and cartilage in the legs. It also helps to maintain the growth of bones. When there is not enough bone, osteoporosis can set in. Blood circulation is also improved when one stays active. When traveling long distances, women should make sure that they get up and stretch their legs and/or walk around. This helps to prevent blood clots from forming in the legs. Women should also sometimes forego long soaks in hot tubs or in bathing tubs. Exposing legs to hot water for extended amounts of times can cause spider veins and other vein damage such as varicose veins. Not only can this be unsightly but can lead to other issues as well. The legs should also be kept elevated when possible such as when resting and/or watching television for extended amounts of time. This allows for better blood flow and circulation, this is especially true for women who are older. Shoes such as stilettos should also be avoided as this can cause body weight to be distributed unevenly which can cause knee and joint damage. Standing for long periods of time without rest can cause circulation issues as well.
These are just some of the things that women should keep in consideration when making sure their legs stay as healthy as possible.
